Are Your Fur Babies Dealing With Back Pain?

Caring for your pets means making sure they’re happy and healthy—but sometimes, it can be difficult to recognize the symptoms of dysfunction in animals.

At my practice, I believe in helping animals express their true health through focused chiropractic adjustments! Commonly, I see pets dealing with hip, pelvic and rear end issues.

Here’s a helpful poem to summarize:

Hind end seems stiff and sore –don’t you want to learn some more?

Falls, slips and collisions – sound the alarm,

They might cause that pelvis some harm.

Presence of a limp or waddle indicates pain, so don’t you dawdle.

Get your pup in to be assessed, so that dysfunction can be addressed!

What to Look For

Common causes of pain and imbalance in animals can result from rough play, falls and collisions, hip dysplasia, arthritis or even a past surgery or injury.

I know your pets are an important part of your family, and I want them to express their best health just like you do. Chiropractic adjustments for pets can offer relief and alignment, helping a variety of issues resolve on their own. Please note, for animals dealing with arthritis and hip dysplasia, the condition can be managed but not reversed.

If you suspect your fur baby may be giving indications of pain, check for the following:

  • Difficulty going from sitting to standing, or standing to sitting
  • Difficulty getting in and out of the car
  • Reluctance going up or down stairs
  • Limp or weak paw (after play)
  • Not sitting straight (rear end points to one side)
  • Moving while they poop
  • Lowered physical activity

Is it time to bring your animal in for an assessment? I look forward to seeing you (and them!) in our practice soon. Remember, it’s always best to get ahead of any injury or pelvic problem rather than putting off treatment.
